A website must have 40 to 50 backlinks to the main page and 0 to 100 backlinks to each individual website to be competitive in SEO. However, the PageRank scores of those backlinks are important because the higher their value, the fewer links needed to improve the overall ranking. For this group, a company should expect to need around 200 backlinks to the main page and between 25 and 50 backlinks to pages to rank among the last five on Google's first page. Creating at least 100 backlinks is a good number for many niches with low or medium competition.
This can change if your niche is a high-competition niche, such as digital marketing. However, don't start your first day of link building by creating a hundred from the start, as these could damage your site if they're bad links. But there are some things that are true. You can comfortably earn as many backlinks as possible every month, as long as you do it ethically.
However, Google values quality over quantity. You can create as many links as you want every day, as long as the backlinks come from quality sites and your anchor text profile looks natural. Companies can still try to classify their subpages in this situation by first creating backlinks to the main page and main pages and then linking internally to the service pages from the main pages. When I analyze backlinks to build others to win, I try to look at the page level and link speed that the first 5 received because I want the link to look natural, I don't want to be too aggressive.
Instead of worrying about how many links you need, focus on creating quality backlinks in the long term. There isn't a set number of links per month that you should (or shouldn't) create for your site, nor how many backlinks per day are safe.
